The standard we build to

Every website this studio builds is made to WCAG 2.2 Level AA — the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the W3C, at the level generally treated as the benchmark. That is the standard on every tier, including the cheapest one. It is not an upgrade.

We say "built to WCAG 2.2 AA" rather than "ADA compliant", deliberately. There is no certification for the latter and no authority that issues one, so anybody claiming it is describing something that does not exist. A published technical standard is something we can actually be held to.

What that means in practice

• Text that meets real contrast ratios against its background, not almost.
• Every form field labelled properly, so a screen reader announces what it is.
• A visible focus indicator, and every interactive element reachable and operable by keyboard alone.
• Semantic structure — real headings in order, real landmarks, a skip-to-content link.
• Meaningful text alternatives for images.
• Tap targets large enough to hit, and text large enough to read without pinching.
• Layout that does not shift under your finger while the page loads.
• Motion that respects your device setting. If you have asked your system to reduce motion, the animation on this site does not run — it is skipped, not merely slowed.

We do not use accessibility overlays

There is a category of widget that promises to make a site accessible by adding a script to it. We do not sell them, install them, or recommend them. They are widely regarded by disabled users and accessibility practitioners as ineffective, and they have themselves been the subject of litigation. The only thing that makes a site usable is building it properly.

Where this site stands

This site is built to the standard above and checked as part of every release. We are not going to claim perfection — no site of any size honestly can, and any page that says otherwise has not been tested properly. This site is also motion-heavy by design, which makes the reduced-motion path especially important; if you use that setting and something still moves, that is a bug and we want to know.

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, email hello@thapaweb.com. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what happened. Include the device or assistive technology you use if you are comfortable doing so, because it helps us reproduce the problem.

You will get a real reply, and if the fix is ours to make we will make it and tell you when it is done. If you need information from this site in another format in the meantime, ask and we will send it.
