AI Search
AI trusts other sites about you more than your own
When someone asks an AI assistant "who's the best X in Y", it doesn't compare the candidates' own websites. It reads the pages that discuss them — local round-ups, industry directories, forum threads, news mentions — and synthesises from those. Your site is where it confirms details. Somebody else's is where it forms an opinion.
Why doesn't my own website count for this?
It counts, but for a different job. Everyone's own website says they're excellent, so as evidence it carries almost no weight. A third party saying it is worth far more precisely because you didn't write it.
The frustrating version of this: a business with a genuinely excellent site that's never recommended. The three sources the assistant cites for their category turn out to be a local magazine round-up, a trade association directory, and a Reddit thread. They're in none of them. Their competitor is in all three and has a worse website.
How do you find out which sites those are?
You ask. We put the questions your customers would ask to the assistants and record, by name, which sources they draw on. That list is the target — and it's usually shorter and more reachable than people expect, because it's specific to your category and your area rather than the whole internet.
Then it's ordinary, unglamorous work:
- The directory that requires a licence number — supply the licence number
- The association that requires membership — join it
- The round-up whose editor takes submissions — submit
- Your credentials, licences and real team published where they can be independently checked
Isn't this just link building?
It overlaps with the honest half of it, and it's explicitly not the dishonest half.
| We do | We don't |
|---|---|
| Get you into sources that are already being cited | Buy links or link packages |
| Publish credentials where they can be verified | Use private blog networks |
| Consistent profiles on platforms that matter to your trade | Mass-submit you to hundreds of directories |
The bought version is cheaper and faster. It's also a liability we'd be handing to you — the 2026 spam updates made link schemes a site-level risk, and the damage lands on your domain, not on the vendor's.
Common questions
How long does this take?
It's the slowest program we run, because it depends on other people's editorial timelines. Directories are quick; a round-up might be a season.
What if there's nothing notable about my business yet?
Then we'll say so, and suggest what would change that — usually something you already do and have never written down. This is the program that most depends on you actually having something worth citing, and pretending otherwise wastes your money.
Can you guarantee placements?
No. We can't make a journalist write about you, and we won't fabricate a mention. What's controllable is that every place thatwill list you, does — accurately and consistently.
